Manchester’s Social Media Makes Sense Ltd are pleased to announce another exciting partnership with Mammoth Screen on their new ITV drama, Vanity Fair.
Written by Gwyneth Hughes (Dark Angel, The Girl, Miss Austen Regrets) – the seven-part series follows the life of Becky Sharp who resides in English society during the Napoleonic wars. As a penniless orphan, we share her journey as she attempts to scale the heights of early 20th Century society. Breaking hearts and losing fortune we follow her story through the Battle of Waterloo to the court of King George IV.
Olivia Cooke – the 23 year old Oldham-born actress (Ready Player One, Me and Earl and The Dying Girl, The Limehouse Golem) plays Thackeray’s timeless heroine Becky Sharp and will be joined by Tom Bateman (Murder on the Orient Express, Jekyll & Hyde, Da Vinci’s Demons) as Rawdon Crawley.
This series will be executive produced by Mammoth Screen’s Managing Director Damien Timmer, who describes the show as, “…a massive rollercoaster of a story and we’ve assembled an ensemble cast of real range to do it justice, from fast rising stars like Johnny Flynn and Tom Bateman to stage legends like Simon Russell Beale and household names like Suranne Jones and Martin Clunes. We know Jo Booth and her team at SMMS will do a terrific job of promoting the show on social media.”
Jo Booth, MD adds, “Watch out for another award winning series from Mammoth – we’re all a-twitter here about it!”
SMMS Ltd have worked on several series for Mammoth Screen, including Poldark for the BBC, and Victoria for ITV.
SMMS will continue to cover all aspects of social media and online engagement for Vanity Fair, including Facebook and Twitter.
