#SherlockLive: Integrating TV and Social Media by Sian Thomas of Bronco
We’ve found a fantastic blog by Sian Thomas on how the BBC & #SherlockLive cleverly used Social Media to involve younger viewers – the online generation – by successfully integrating a popular TV series with an interactive campaign using a mixture of social media platforms to engage fans to solve a murder mystery.
Engaging their online fandom, they had Sherlock Holmes hijack the BBC Twitter account and engage them with solving the murder! This wonderfully imaginative campaign had viewers engaged 2 days AFTER Sunday’s episode aired.
